Who is Witch Bitch Thrift?

Witch Bitch Thrift is a women-, LGBTQIA+ owned thrift and vintage shop based in New Haven, CT- and now, we’re online too. What began as an Instagram shop turned local storefront has now evolved into a growing digital universe, making it easier than ever to access our inclusive fashion from anywhere.

Our mission is simple: to build a radically welcoming space where all people, genders, and bodies are celebrated. Whether you’re visiting us in person or scrolling through our curated collections online, we’re here to help you feel powerful in what you wear.

Our Values

Inclusivity

We carry all sizes, with a strong focus on plus-size representation, and we organize every item by true measurement - not arbitrary tag sizes. Our Universal Size Chart ensures consistent and accessible sizing for all bodies. We believe everyone deserves access to fashion that fits and empowers.

Accessibility

Thrifting should be for everyone. We’ve intentionally lowered our prices, built the WBT Community Fund, and created a space - both physical and digital - where no one is turned away for a lack of funds. Accessibility isn’t just a policy, it’s a practice.

Quality

We curate unique, high-quality pieces with intention and care. Whether it's a vintage gem or a custom-made corset by a local artist, everything we sell is stylish, wearable, and worthy of a second life.

Community

More than a thrift store, we’re a hub for connection. From mutual aid initiatives, to supporting local artists and hosting events, we’re always finding ways to uplift and empower our community.

Our Story

Witch Bitch Thrift was born in September 2020, mid-pandemic, in a Bridgeport living room. What started with Instagram drops and a couple racks of curated secondhand clothing quickly turned into a movement. In just a few months, Virginia Semeghini and Eva Ray transformed their DIY dream into a physical space - first as a hidden back-office shop, then as one of Connecticut’s most beloved thrifting destinations.

From the jump, we challenged everything: how clothes are sized, who fashion is for, and what a thrift store can be. We built our own Universal Size Chart, ditched gendered sections, and created a radically inclusive, community-driven space that centers joy, self-expression, and accessibility.

Now with a flagship store in New Haven and an online shop finally ready to meet demand, Witch Bitch Thrift is reclaiming secondhand fashion for everyone, everywhere.
