‘Take Me To Church’ was one of the first Hozier songs I ever heard. It was incredibly cathartic listing to this song in high school and feeling seen through music. I chose the clear and white colors for the cathedral arch because the song to me is less about the church and more about the individual affected by it! That’s what the center of the piece is the figure, being pierced by the gold sword. The wings represent the goodness and ferocity in us all!
